About Don Smith Blinds
Established in 1984, Don Smith Blinds has grown to become an industry leading expert in the measure, manufacture, supply, and fit of blinds.
Based in Northampton, the company had humble beginnings with Don Smith solely supplying a small number of products to domestic customers. In 2001 he was joined full time by Phil Pullin. Phil was appointed as a Director in 2004, a year in which his son Dave Pullin joined the business, and a forward-thinking progression saw Don Smith Blinds move into the Trade business alongside their Domestic work, further diversifying the company. We now supply to trade customers across the entire UK and Ireland.
Upon Don’s retirement in 2014, with the support of Dave, Phil took over the business and his wife Corrina joined as Company Secretary. Dave was appointed as Technical Director in 2017, and Corrina became a Director in the same year.
In 2015 the company moved the factory and showroom to its current premises in Rothersthorpe Avenue Trading Estate. 2019 saw the arrival of Phil’s daughter Leanne into the company as Product and Marketing Director.
Following the sad passing of Phil Pullin in August 2020, Dave, Corrina and Leanne are continuing his legacy.
As of early 2022 we signed the lease for the neighbouring unit, doubling the production space and allowing for a greater manufacturing capacity.
In House Manufacture
The business has grown from strength to strength and currently has just over 20 employees, offering in excess of 50 different products, so there is a solution for all window shapes and sizes. Motorisation has become very popular over the past couple of years and is now a big part of the production. Most of the components are sourced in the UK, with some coming from Germany and France.
90% of products sold are made in-house in the Northampton factory.
